EID AL-ADHA 2024

EID PRAYER TIMES | 16 June 2024

12 OR 13 MAY 2021 | Cardiff Castle

EID PRAYERS | FAMILY PICNIC | FOOD STALLS

In 2021, Eid at the Castle will be the first opportunity for communities to come together to celebrate Eid safely and in unity, an occasion missed by all due to the pandemic. It will provide an opportunity for up to 500 people of all backgrounds to join family, friends and colleagues in experiencing the festival of Eid. This is a unique opportunity given the circumstances and is supported by the Welsh Government.

The celebrations will take place on the 12th or 13th of May 2021 (date dependent on moon sighting) in the heart of Cardiff at Cardiff Castle. We will begin the celebrations with Eid prayer under the open skies, merging later into a safe, family friendly ‘bring your own picnic’. Still feeling hungry? You can enjoy light beverages and food from the selection of food stalls available.

This is the first legal event of this scale that has taken place in Wales since March 2020 and you are really making history by attending. By participating, it will insha’Allah be a stepping stone for future prayers and events for the wider community.

Limited numbers, to book your place...

To book your place you will need a valid ticket and 2 negative COVID tests.

Closing date for registration is Monday 10th May 2021
